The International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees, Local 59, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the United States Department of Labor and The IATSE North Jersey District Stage Technicians Joint Apprenticeship & Training Fund have developed a United States Department of Labor Registered  Apprenticeship Program for Stage Technicians.
A comprehensive training program combines On-the -Job Training and related classroom instruction for a field of work that is technically sophisticated, challenging, diverse and rewarding. Apprentices take theoretical and hands-on classes to learn:
